Whitening vs. Polishing: What's the Difference?

Many newcomers confuse the two. Here is the distinction:

• Rice Whitening removes the brown bran layer through abrasive grinding. It focuses on shape and color.

• Rice Polishing removes the residual bran dust and scratches left by the whitener. It focuses on texture and shine.

Think of it this way: Whitening is like sanding a piece of wood; Polishing is like applying the varnish.

The Science of "Gelatinization" (Water Mist Technology)

Golden-Cereal™ Polishers utilize advanced multi-point atomized water injection. This is not simply washing the rice; it is a precise thermo-chemical reaction.

1. Dampening: A fine, controlled mist adds a microscopic layer of water to the surface of the rice kernel.

2. Friction & Heat: Inside the polishing chamber, the friction between rice grains and the iron roller generates heat.

3. Gelatinization: The combination of water and heat causes the starch on the rice surface to gelatinize.

This process forms a thin, protective gelatinous film around every grain. This film fills in the micro-cracks and scratches, resulting in the signature "Silky Rice" look that is smooth to the touch and gleaming under the light.
